I would not buy things from police auction sites on moral grounds....The police have often seized ( stolen ) much of the stuff they are selling..

Police auctions are good ways to get stuff at cheap rates. We have had auctions in the past and most of the stuff is never claimed or kept because insurance has paid the victims. Our last auction had about 140 bikes, tv's a box of jewlrey and tons of stereo video game equipment. I got a panasonic 54 inch hd ready for 250 dollars, a 27 inch tv for 20 dollars and a couple bikes. The thing to remember and this is very important; whatever you buy clean thoroughly before bringing it into your home. roach eggs, fleas, etc..... most stuff comes from yucky bug infested homes. If you can physically go to a police auction then go. I know with ebay a lot of departments are going to the "web" thing and i have not tried online police auctions yet. FYI - the box of jewlery i bought for 70 dollars and sold 3 watches Dakota to get my money back and made almost 300 some of the other stuff and still had things left over. Good luck.
