I need a website that I can sell a gun on. Any suggestions?

I have a 1907 enfield rifle I am tring to sell on an online auction type site. However, I do not know of any. I know the value of the gun and am looking for a place where it can be found by collectors (or anybody for that matter). Also can I just send the gun via mail or are their certian guidlines I need to follow? Thanks to anybody for the help.

  1. 1907? what Model is it if you don't mind my asking? This is a "modern" rifle (although C&R) and will require all legal rules set by the BATF as well as for each state and locality involved. If you are not a ffl holder and unfamiliar with the rules and regs, I strongly suggest you have a ffl dealer sell it for you on consignment. This is usually about a 15% fee and well worth it to keep you legal. Don't screw around with interstate firearm transactions if you are a rookie....it's simply not worth it. To get maximum interest, you need the model and the factory and any relevant Enfield info....PLUS some darn good pictures. Many gun dealers will help you determine this and then list it on an auction site for you using their registered account, then handle all the legalities. AGAIN....use the professional, he earns his money and then some. If you insist of selling it yourself, you need a signed copy of the receiver's FFL, original not a fax or copy before you ship. The signature needs to be in ink. You can also ONLY ship to the address on the license. Keep this copy in your records for years. Make a copy of the FFL and include it in the box. You need to use UPS or FEDEX, and you need to go to the station, not a "UPS Store". Get insurance, delivery confirmation and "Adult Signature Required". If you screw up ANY of this, or if some bad guy scams you, you could face 10 years in a federal prison. Also, if you ship to some place where this is outlawed, even if you don't know, the state or city could come arrest you. Am I trying to scare you? Yes. The downsides are not worth saving $25 for.........
  2. I use Gunbroker.com and Auctionarms.com Both sites require you register to sell anything but it doesn't cost anything to register. It cost a small fixed rate and a percentage of the final selling price. I have bought approx. 35 firearms between these two sites and I like them both. Good luck....
  3. http://www.gunbroker.com http://www.gunsamerica.com http://www.auctionarms.com/ All of the are auction sites dedicated to firearms and their accessories. You should be able to do a search and find what other rifles like yours (including similsr condition) have (or have not) been selling for.
  4. www.gunbroker.com www.auctionarms.com www.gunsamerica.com I use gunbroker.com myself. My second favorite is auctionarms.com. I have bought and sold guns on gunbroker.com and all of my transactions have gone smoothly. Hope that helps.
