Buying a used car?

I was looking online at cars.com because I was looking for a car that could get me to work and school back and forth for $1,000 and I saw a car from the city auto auction that looks good for $900 is that the price I will pay or would I have to pay more?

Be careful. I would get it checked by a mechanic before I made a commitment.

Auctions have a starting price...that is that cars starting price. There will be many bids of higher prices and I am afraid yours will not be the high price.
That would be the price if no one else place a bet on it, since is an auction.
Always will be hidden costs to factor in, taxes, tags, title transfer, etc. It might run you an extra hundred or so. Why not email them and ask?

the problem is u get what u pay for expecially at auctions. But remember you are buying the car "as is". People generally dont like to hear that term, but it's true. Somebody might say the seller is hiding something from me that he doesnt want me to know or find out until he has his money, the warranty is over, and the buyer and seller go their seperate ways after the sell. The other person who said something about property tax, license, and tags is right. Those are all things to think about and we didnt really get into the amount of repairs for a $1000 vehicle. So what i did was get a $1400 1992 ford ranger and had my friend put in a new clutch before i bought it. And yes i had a mechanic check it out (2 of them) Then i drove it around for a week since i didnt know how to drive a stick and then i bought it. i was the 3rd owner i did go on car fax and got the history of it and it lasted 3 years from 165,000 died at 200,000. So thats my story about buying a used vehicle.
