I went with my grandfather about 4 years ago to a dealers auction i got 98 grand am for $2300 64,000 miles on it and blue book at the time was about $5000

- They are cheaper than regular car auctions but they also have a lot of salvaged cars for sale. The car dealer makes a couple thousand per car because they try to pay the black book price, which is like a blue book price but the price that a dealer should expect to pay at an auction based on what others have recently paid. The only bummer is that you have to be a dealer to get into one or go along with one as their representative.
