Can you recommend a reasonably priced digital camera, good for photography of on-line auction items?
I am working towards selling the jewellery I make and want to try doing it on-line. Can anyone recommend a suitable, camera that will take decent photos of merchandise for on-line selling please? I don't want to spend too much as I've already invested a lot in my materials. Please, please don't post a link to about.com re the sony Cyber-shot Dsc-p72 or other such sites. I'd really appreciate your OWN experience and knowledge please.

- I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-P200. I got it maybe 2.5 years ago. It's a pretty good camera. It even has a manual function where you can adjust it on your own how bright/dark you want the picture to be.
- after my really expensive camera was stole on me i didnt want to pay that amount of money again, but i wanted something with good quality, i found one in tesco that was around £20 and it does give a good photo i have used it for many things, and i think it would be good for you as its only for internet auctions, try it out!!

- i have this camera:
Exilim Zoom EX-Z75
it has a built in EBay feature that takes pictures at the "perfect" resolution for putting on ebay
the only downside is this camera will break EASILY!
other than that it is an excellent camera
- Fuji finepix, or any Pentax optio camera.
Had Pentax for 8 years +.

- Hi LaLa. Hope I can answer your question with the extensive experience we have had. My daughter sells items online, too, and must get perfect pictures for people to view. Her sales for clothes on ebay has now topped 2000 so I guess it is working. :)) She uses one of the Sony CyberShot models. Hers is a 5 megapixel. She needs no more than that because all of her pictures go on the internet at 72 dpi. You are going to be selling small jewelry pieces and that means you will need to get up close. Sony has an excellent MACRO/ or Close Up setting. My daughter has to get in very close to take pictures of the labels on the back of clothing... and you know that is tiny... every letter and word is clear and in focus. I know there are dozens of brands to choose from. It is important that you get one with good close up capabilities... Sony Cyber-shot works for her. Best Wishes.
- I work for a magazine and whenever i do product reviews like food, makeup, etc, I carry with me my favorite digital camera, a Sony Cybershot t70. I used to own a canon cam but i find it bulky so i switched to Sony. I got this digital camera at a very reasonable price and it works well for me and for the products that i needed to take pictures of. It's light and compact and it's idiot proof, very easy to use.
