Does anyone know anything about flight ticket auctions on line?
My daughter is getting married in new jersey on Monday 23rd July. I have very little money and am trying to get the cheapest flight return to New York. I live in france but can fly from CDG or UK airports, but so far the cheapest I have found are about £500. Please help.

- I don't know anything about on-line Flight auctions but, your best bet for a cheap flight is to go "standby". The problem is, you may have to wait around for a long time at the airport.
- Standby is NOT a good option in this case. You'll end up paying even more, if (IF) a seat is even available. Flights are routinely oversold on transatlantic routes in summer.
I do know flight ticket auction sites--Priceline, and http://www.skyauction.com but I believe both only work for flights starting from the USA.

- Can find nothing cheap from France, I'm afraid, in fact very expensive. Here's 3 choices from U.K. Dialaflight are offering Heathrow to New York on 22nd July, returning on the 25th, at £406, or Gatwick to New York on 21st July, returning on the 25th, at £385. You have to phone them on 0870 333 4488. Alternatively, there is a flight from Gatwick to Newark (New Jersey) on 2lst July, returning on the 25th with NorthWest Airlines. This flight involves a change at Detroit, in both directions and is priced at £467.30. This is available through "ebookers.com" , and can be booked on line (e-ticket given).
