Is there a way to purchase police confiscated guns?
I would imagine that guns confiscated from felons go somewhere, but are they all destroyed or are they sold back in police auctions with other confiscated items?

- No. These weapons are destroyed.
- They are destroyed here.
- aw man. i want to buy some nice discount guns
- mine are available in a gun shop the sheriff owns in rockdale, texas. no charges against me because there was no crime committed but they heard us shooting at the trash pile from the road (126 yds away). i sued to get them back but 'theyd been turne over to the atf', obviously a lie.
- The cheap ones are crushed, the high quality one are supposedly destroyed, but there are many people who believe they go into police hands as personal weapons, department weapons, or even illegally sold on the black market. There is validity to this line of reasoning, since guns are a hot commodity, in the legal market, and also the black market.
- In Illinois, they are required to be destroyed or in the case of unusual armaments they can be turned over to the state crime lab. Hope this helps.
- Just get in good with a cop and he can steal you one from the lock up. I know a woman cop that steals guns and drugs from the police lock up but it's not my problem and the cops where I live are mostly corrupt so to hell with them.
