  4. I've had pretty good luck with www.acutionarms.com Tip for you: If you win an auction, the shipping charges are extra. Usually $20 to $30 to ship the gun to your FFL holder. Any gun you buy has to be shipped to your local FFL holder. I use a local pawn shop. The FFL holder will charge you a fee to process the weapon. This can run from $20 to $50. Be sure you know what your dealer is going to charge you to receive and process the gun. When I decide to purchase another gun I first check the local shops to check the price and if the gun is in stock. If the gun is in stock, I note the price and start shopping my auction site. Shipping and processing are going to cost me at least $40 to $50, so if the local gun shop is charging $500 for the gun, the most I can bid is $450. Once in a while I find I can not get the gun for less than the local shop is charging me. If the gun is not in stock, I check some of the major stores that sell on line. If they don't have it either, I start bidding and hoping no one else wants the gun a badly as I do. You can get some great deals, but be careful.

  7. http://www.gunsamerica.com/ http://www.gunbroker.com/ http://www.auctionarms.com/ http://www.twoguysgunauctions.com/index.php http://www.ebang.com/ You might want to consider a 1911 in 45 cal. (I prefer .45 but you can choose for yourself). I recommend: 1.) Kimber CDP (Custom Defense Package) - the meltdown treatment is a great feature. 2.) Any other Kimber 3.) Springfield 4.) You can spend even more $$ in other manufacturers and Colt is not what it used to be. Les Baer is one of the more expensive 1911's. Here's a link to learn a bit about this awesome design, for almost 100 years the 1911 hasn't been improved: http://www.sightm1911.com/index.htm Also, if you are going to carry, get yourself a quality holster. I recommend Milt Sparks.
