- It's an amazing way to save BIG $$$$, especially if you know what you want ahead of time!!! If a drug dealer loses his $60,000 BMW, and it goes to auction and you are able to buy it for $5000, you can't go wrong!!! Many auction cars are junk that cannot be driven. Know what you are looking for. Take someone with you that knows a little about cars, car histories and maintenance. Many people buy undriveable cars from auctions for next to nothing, repair them, and sell them to make a profit. I have done this a few times. Good Luck!!
- Pros - the possibility of getting something cheap Cons - the possibility of getting something cheap that doesn't run, needs major work and has a long list of mechanical issues. The possibilities of getting a POS are much greater than getting a decent car.
- http://tcp3.com/rq27 - here's a good website to look for real cheap quality car from government auctions! I bought my car for just $1250 with a milage of 5,270! And it's been already a year I'm riding my car and it's still doing well!
- I found a list of several auto auction and government seized websites. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Government-Seized-Auto-Auctions.html These sites probabaly have a FAQ page to help you. It looks like they cost a small fee to join, but I couldn't find any free resources online. Since the inventory is always changing, your signup fee is probably used to keep the site up to date.
- The pros are that you get access to cheap car auctions around the country that can save you a lot of money. The cons are that the cars don't come with a warranty. So, it's in your best interest to give it a good inspection, aside from running a CARFAX report.
