How do seized vehicle auctions work?
Are they auctions through the NYPD? Do I need a dealers license to bid? Where can I find one? Is it worth it? Are there good bargains? About how much do cars go for?

- Most police auctions are open to the public and are announced in a local newspaper on a regular schedule. Here's more about it: http://www.leaseguide.com/Articles/policeimpound.htm .
- Seized car auctions are usually held through the police department or government. The cars can be seized for any number of reasons: unpaid parking tickets, driving with a suspended license, illegal activities, etc. You don't need a license to attend one and they are usually free. You can also expect to save a couple thousand dollars on whatever you're bidding on. The prices can range from $500 to $15,000... all depending on the make, model and year. The luxury cars will usually cost you $5,000 and up. http://www.mycarauctionreview.com has a couple of cheap car auction sites you can use that will give you info on car auctions all over the country.
