For cars at auctions, what reasons would a car run then cut off ?
I always look at cars at this online auction... http://www.charitycarauctions.com/ Many say "runs and cuts off". My concern is are most reasons expensive or inexpensive. I am a good parts changer.

- it happened in my old car and there was a quarter-sized hole in the head gasket...may also want to check the fuel injector, alternator, serpentine belt (which in turn would burn up your alternator) and any corrosion on the battery which may inhibit a good connection. wiring may be off too...there are many possibilities
- That could be anything. maybe a tuneup? maybe a sensor? bad wiring? bad idle valve? If it has a check engine light, a code would be nice to start from.
- It could literally be anything. It may be cheap or expensive to repair. There's just no way to know without being diagnosed b/c so many different things can cause that.
